Steps to create your own Gasket.
- Buy gasket making material. Here is what AutoZone has online. I stopped in the store and they had a cork-like material.
- Take a picture of the item being made for. Try to make sure the photo is the most head-on as possible for the most accurate trace.
- Load image in illustrator and trace as I did
- Resize image to print traced image the exact size as the real gasket. Making measurements within illustrator isn’t difficult. Use a tape measure on your actual item and compare widths.
- cut
- make outline onto cork material
- cut cork material, making holes first (you will be more likely to rip cork material if you cut before making holes)
